The Supreme Court judgment upholding the election of Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State has been hailed as a source of renewed optimism for the state’s people, according to the National Secretary of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Dipo Olayoku. Speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja, Olayoku emphasized that the ruling signifies the confirmation of NNPP’s victory in the state’s election on March 18, 2023. He urged politicians to seek electoral success through legitimate means and applauded the Supreme Court for thwarting any attempt to subvert the democratic process. As the Deputy National Chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), Olayoku expressed that the judgment was not unexpected, given NNPP’s strong performance in the elections. He pointed out the party’s significant wins in various elections across the state and stressed that the ruling reflects the will of the people. Olayoku concluded by expressing gratitude for the restoration of hope through the Supreme Court’s decision.
