Super Eagles Will Perform Well In Cote d’Ivoire — Osimhen

Victor Osimhen is confident the Super Eagles will display a commendable performance at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire.

The three-time African champions secured a spot at the 2023 AFCON finals after a hard-fought 3-2 victory against the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone in Monrovia last month.

The West Africans were eliminated in the second round by Tunisia at the previous edition of the tournament in Cameroon.

However, Osimhen is optimistic that the Super Eagles will fare better this time.

“We have an excellent squad to perform well, I’m proud of the team,” Osimhen told Wazobia FM Radio Lagos.

“We compete for the team because it’s an honor to play for Nigeria.

“We expect greatness, we will strive for the trophy.

“We have experienced players and leaders like Ahmed Musa, Kenneth Omeruo, and Wilfred Ndidi, who have been supportive to the younger players.

“I know some of the fans have lost hope in us (after the Eagles failed to qualify for the 2022 World Cup), but I hope they will come back to support us.

“They will witness a different Super Eagles, we’re working very hard. We will have a successful tournament and if God desires, we will emerge as the champions.”
