In anticipation of the final clash against the hosts, William Troost-Ekong has expressed that the Super Eagles have their sights set on clinching the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations title.
The upcoming match will see Jose Peseiro’s side go head to head with the hosts on Sunday in the final.
Having overcome South Africa’s Bafana Bafana, the Super Eagles are now poised for their fourth AFCON title, boasting five wins and one draw in six appearances at the 2023 finals.
Troost-Ekong emphasized the team’s determination to secure victory, highlighting the significance of winning the tournament.
Speaking to reporters, Troost-Ekong stated, “We fought hard to get to the final. We’re not satisfied to reach the final, we now want to go all the way and win the tournament.”
He added, “It will be a tough game, it will be special. Everyone is very excited, we don’t need any motivation to play this final of the AFCON.”
