Successful Operation by Nigerian Army in Kaduna

On Monday, 29th August 2022, a fighting patrol spearheaded by Major General Taoreed Lagbaja, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 1 Division Nigerian Army, along with operational commanders and operatives, conducted a successful clearance operation against bandits in several communities in Kaduna state, including Buruku, Udawa, Manini, Birnin Gwari, Doka, Maganda, Kuyello, and Dogon Dawa.

 

Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, the Director of Army Public Relations, revealed in a statement on Tuesday, August 30, that one bandit was neutralized during the operation, and three others were apprehended.

 

The statement read, “In the fire fight that occurred during the engagements, the patrol team subdued the bandits with superior firepower, neutralizing one of them, while three others were captured alive, and some of the criminal elements managed to escape with gunshot wounds.”

 

“The Patrol team also recovered one AK 47 rifle, 27 rounds of 7.62 mm Special ammunition, and 18 motorcycles

 

“The general public, especially health facilities and paramedics, are urged to remain vigilant for individuals seeking medical assistance due to gunshot wounds and report such cases to the relevant security agencies.”
