Strict Warning Issued by NCAA to Airlines Engaging in Illegal Flights

A recent warning from the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority has put airlines on notice regarding unauthorized flights into restricted zones within the country.

This directive came following a report from the Office of the National Security Adviser alerting the aviation authority about an unidentified aircraft sighting over the presidential villa.

Expressing serious concern, the NCAA addressed Airlines Operators in Nigeria through a formal communication.

Quoting a specific regulation from Nig.CARs, the letter stated, “No person should operate an aircraft in a prohibited or restricted area unless authorized by the State governing that space.”

Any violation of this rule could lead to sanctions or prosecution as outlined by the authority.

Emphasizing the seriousness of the matter, the NCAA warned that trespassing aircraft may face severe consequences.

Furthermore, the letter advised all aircraft owners and operators to ensure their crew conducts thorough weather checks prior to each flight and strictly follows air traffic control instructions, preventing any inadvertent entry into restricted or prohibited airspace.
