An assertion has been made by Nigerian musician Iyanya that he supported the memoir ‘I Am Not Yvonne Nelson,’ by his ex-girlfriend, Ghanaian actress Yvonne Nelson, without realizing he was referenced in the book.
According to a report by NewsNow, Yvonne Nelson disclosed details of her relationship with Iyanya in a chapter titled “Iyanya And My Love Life,” revealing how she discovered his affair with Nollywood actress, Tonto Dikeh.
During a recent interview with The Beat 99.9 FM in Lagos, Iyanya disclosed that he endorsed the book without being aware of its contents.
The singer, who had initially vowed to address Nelson’s claims when the book was released last year, mentioned that he is presently not prepared to comment on the infidelity accusations made by his former partner.
He mentioned that despite the circumstances, he still maintains a cordial relationship with Nelson and they communicate regularly.
He explained, “I endorsed Yvonne Nelson’s book without knowing I was mentioned in it. We were on good terms, we still converse to this day, so I wasn’t aware that my name was in the book. When the book was released, there was a lot of buzz. People informed me that I was featured in it, but I have yet to read it.”
“I had previously mentioned that I would address the claims she made in her book, but for now, I am not prepared to respond. I choose not to engage with such matters, because my lifestyle is often accompanied by a lot of chaos.”
