Stampede in London Leaves Four in Critical Condition at Asake’s Show


London’s Asake show has been called off after a chaotic situation unfolded due to people attempting to enter the venue without tickets.

Police have confirmed that four individuals are in critical condition following the incident, with many others sustaining injuries during the stampede.

Lambeth Police stated that they were alerted around 21:35hrs on Thursday, December 15th to the O2 Academy on Stockwell Road, SW9, in response to reports of a large group attempting to force entry into the venue. They are currently investigating the circumstances that led to the critical injuries of four people.

An investigation led by detectives from Specialist Crime is underway after eight individuals were taken to the hospital, with four remaining in critical condition and two receiving treatment at the scene from the London Ambulance Service (LAS).

Commander Ade Adelekan, Met Police Gold Commander, expressed concern for the individuals affected by the incident and assured that a thorough investigation will be conducted. He emphasized the need for sensitivity regarding the sharing of social media content related to the event and confirmed that no police dogs were deployed to the location.
