Spokesman Akinpelu: OPC Embraces All Religious Beliefs

In a recent statement, Adesina Akinpelu, the National Publicity Secretary of the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) New Era, emphasized that the OPC does not hold any prejudices against any religion, contrary to popular belief.

Akinpelu highlighted the diversity within the OPC, stating that it includes members who practice Christianity, Islam, and traditional religions.

Speaking at the annual Ramadan lecture organized by OPC New Era in Oluyole Local Government, Oyo state, Akinpelu reiterated the inclusive nature of the organization, emphasizing that it welcomes individuals of all faiths.

During his address, Akinpelu asserted, “OPC is open to everyone, irrespective of their religious beliefs. There is no discrimination within the organization.”

He further stated, “I am currently advocating for the protection of innocent lives in Yorubaland and beyond. I, Comrade Adesina Akinpelu, will fight for our legitimate rights within the framework of the law.”

Highlighting the importance of unity and non-violence, Akinpelu expressed his commitment to preventing bloodshed and fostering harmony among different groups.

The guest lecturer, Sheik Muhideen Ajani Bello, urged Muslims worldwide to uphold the teachings of Ramadan beyond the Holy Month, emphasizing the values of submission to God, self-discipline, and avoidance of sin.

Bello emphasized the significance of demonstrating love, forgiveness, and mutual respect in daily interactions, echoing the teachings of the Prophet Mohammed (SAW).

Chairman of OPC New Era in Oluyole Local Government, Bashir Kolawole, praised the annual Ramadan lecture as a successful initiative that promotes unity and religious tolerance within the community.

Kolawole expressed gratitude for the strong turnout at the event, pledging continued efforts to enhance future programs and engage with a broader audience.
