Sola Sobowale denies drug trafficking arrest in Saudi Arabia


The veteran Nollywood star, Sola Sobowale, has refuted rumors circulating about her supposed arrest and subsequent death sentence for drug trafficking in Saudi Arabia.

During an episode of the ‘Deep Drive’ podcast hosted by Teju Babyface, the actress famous for her role in ‘King of Boys’ reminisced about the period when she relocated from Nigeria to the United Kingdom, recalling the numerous false reports that emerged about her, including the fabrication that she had met her demise in the Middle East.

Discussing the outlandish claims, she humorously recounted, “They concocted a tale that I was caught smuggling cocaine in Saudi Arabia. Allegedly, they apprehended me and carried out severe physical punishments like amputating my limbs. I defiantly asserted my status as a Nigerian star, insisting they put an end to my life, and apparently, they complied.”

In unequivocal terms, the 58-year-old actress affirmed upon her return to Nigeria, she promptly dispelled the baseless narrative, emphasizing that she has never even set foot in Saudi Arabia.

She expressed gratitude, mentioning that she believes God has rewarded her in abundance for overcoming the malicious falsehoods circulated about her.
