Sokoto Sees Decrease in Protests as Businesses Slowly Reopen

The nationwide protest against poor governance has entered its second day, and Sokoto State is gradually returning to normalcy with major streets being free of protesters on Friday morning.

Monitoring the situation, our correspondent noticed that streets like Bello Way, Gusau Road, Sultan Palace, Government House, and Emir Yahya Roads were deserted by protesters.

It was just a day prior that these same streets, including the state Government house gate, were occupied by protesters as the demonstrations started.

Reports indicate that some traders, mainly around old market, Sahara, and Central market, cautiously reopened their shops for business on Friday.

In contrast, banks and certain government offices remain closed at the time of this report submission.
