Snoop Dogg, the Rapper, to Bear Olympic Torch before Opening Ceremony

Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr, widely known as Snoop Dogg, the renowned American rapper, is set to carry the Paris Olympic torch in the final leg leading up to the grand opening ceremony.

The much-anticipated opening ceremony is scheduled for Friday, July 26, 2024, where more than 10,000 athletes will usher in the Games on boats navigating the picturesque Seine River.

Prior to the commencement of the ceremony, the rapper will bear the torch through Saint-Denis, a suburb of Paris, a fact confirmed by the town mayor, Mathieu Hanotin, on his official platform.

Expressing his excitement, the mayor posted, “Saint Denis: the ultimate stage before the iconic Eiffel Tower. An international lineup featuring @SnoopDogg for the final leg of the Olympic Flame.”

Joining Snoop Dogg as torchbearers are the French rapper MC Solaar and the French actress Laetitia Casta.
