Slumflower sparks debate by participating in the “Bring Back the Bush” campaign with photos of her unshaved private parts

A debate about double standards and the choice to keep pubic hair was ignited after Chidera Eggerue, also known as The Slumflower, shared a photo of her unshaved private parts.

In the photo posted on Twitter, Slumflower was wearing a skimpy bodysuit that did little to conceal her pubic hair, which was visible in the photo.

In her caption, she discussed societal beauty standards and the shaming of women for allowing their body hair to grow. She highlighted the pressure on women to remove all body hair, comparing it to having skin as smooth as a baby’s.

She also announced the launch of a campaign called Bring Back The Bush, aimed at challenging the stigma associated with women keeping hair on parts of their body other than their head and eyes.

Following the photo’s release, there were mixed reactions. Some criticized her, labeling her as dirty for not shaving her pubic hair.

Others came to her defense, pointing out that some of the same people shaming her also don’t shave the hair in their own nether regions.

There were arguments that it is more acceptable for men to have body hair than it is for women. This raised discussions about double standards, with Twitter users questioning whether body hair is only considered unclean when it grows on women.
