Six Reported Dead as Terrorists Strike Kaduna Communities

Reports indicate that terrorists have attacked Sabon Gida Libere, Ungwan Ganye, Ungwan Nabara, and Kadi communities in Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, resulting in the deaths of at least six individuals and the abduction of 26 others.

The attacks, carried out by bandits in separate incidents, caused widespread fear and tragedy among the residents. Six individuals were confirmed dead, and 26 people were taken captive.

During a telephone conversation with our correspondent, local resident Aminu Khalid shared that the terrorists first struck Sabon Gida Libere, where one person was killed and 23 were abducted. Additionally, three individuals lost their lives in Ungwan Nabara.

Khalid highlighted the ongoing challenges faced by the communities due to the attacks, emphasizing that many villages have been deserted as a result of the constant threat of violence.

Commenting on the situation, Khalid mentioned, “The terrorists have established their camp near the Libere community in the ‘Agwala forest’ atop a hill. The surrounding villages remain largely uninhabited, and residents are unable to access their farmlands.”

He further called for government intervention, urging authorities and the military to eliminate the terrorists’ stronghold in the bush to reassure the safety and security of the affected communities.

Despite reaching out, the Kaduna State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mansir Hassan, did not respond to inquiries made by our correspondent at the time of reporting.
