Shock in Uganda as Imam discovers his newlywed wife is a man who disguised as a woman (photos)

Uganda was left in disbelief after an Imam discovered that his newlywed wife was actually a man disguised as a woman. Sheikh Mohammed Mutumba, the Imam of Kyampisi Masigid Noor mosque in Kayunga Sub-County, Kayunga District, had exchanged marriage vows with Ms Swabullah Nabukeera following Islamic tradition (Nikah).

The couple refrained from having sexual intercourse before marriage and also abstained from enjoying conjugal rights for two weeks as the “bride” claimed to be menstruating. However, suspicions arose when a neighbor reported that the newlywed wife had stolen their television set and clothes by jumping over a wall.

Upon being arrested, it was revealed that the supposed woman was actually a man named Richard Tumushabe, aged 27. Tumushabe admitted to the police that he had pretended to be a woman in order to deceive Mutumba and obtain his money. He was charged with impersonation, theft, and obtaining goods by false pretense.

The Imam expressed shock and disbelief at the revelation, and the incident has left residents and family members in astonishment. The police are investigating further and waiting for legal advice before taking Tumushabe to court.

The entire ordeal has left many advising the youth to find better means of earning a living instead of resorting to such deceitful acts.
