Vice President Kashim Shettima has labeled Bola Tinubu as the politician most subjected to demonization in Nigeria.
Contrary to popular belief, Shettima revealed that his residence in Maiduguri surpasses Tinubu’s Bourdillon home in Lagos, despite the negative portrayal by Nigerians.
Despite facing persistent demonization, the Vice President asserted that Tinubu possesses a pure heart and harbors good intentions for the nation.
During his address in Abuja on Thursday, the Vice President lauded Tinubu as a trustworthy leader who is not driven by a desire for wealth accumulation while in power.
Shettima emphasized that Tinubu’s focus is on attaining glory rather than material gain.
Expressing his sentiments, Shettima remarked, “I am not engaging in political posturing; my words are sincere. I have observed the true essence of Bola Tinubu, and he exudes benevolence.
“His aspirations are noble for the nation. He seeks a legacy of honor. His motives do not revolve around acquiring primitive wealth. Tinubu stands out as the most vilified politician in Nigeria.
“Upon my initial visit to his residence at Bourdillon, I anticipated witnessing a mansion rivaling Buckingham Palace, complete with expansive gardens and lavish swimming pools, only to find that the house did not exude grandeur. In fact, my residence in Maiduguri far surpasses the one in Bourdillon.”
Shettima also urged Nigerians to throw their support behind Tinubu as he endeavors to address Nigeria’s socio-political, economic, and security issues.
He highlighted that the positive outcomes of the stringent measures being implemented will soon become apparent to Nigerians.
Shettima advised Nigerians to shift their focus from dwelling on past and present challenges faced by the nation towards actively seeking solutions to the underlying issues.
