Shehu Sani Calls for Recovery of Funds Allegedly Looted from CBN and Humanitarian Ministry During Buhari’s Administration

Senator Shehu Sani has urged the administration led by President Bola Tinubu to recover funds that were allegedly looted from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs during the previous administration.

Former Governor of CBN, Godwin Emefiele, was recently accused of illegally acquiring some commercial banks while in office.

In a similar vein, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has reportedly uncovered N37 billion allegedly looted in the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development under the former minister, Saddiya Umar-Farouk.

These alleged incidents of looting occurred during the administration of former President Mohammadu Buhari.

Sani, in a post on his official handle on Sunday, emphasized that the recovered funds should be invested in schools, stating, “President Tinubu should recover money looted from the CBN and the Humanitarian ministry under the Buhari ‘integrity’ administration and specifically use it to fund the budget of our public Universities, Polytechnics, COEs, and Federal Government Colleges.”
