“Shade Ladipo’s Reaction to Burna Boy’s Grammy Award Loss”

After Burna Boy lost the Grammy Award, Shade Ladipo responded to those who claimed he was “cheated” out of winning.

Burna was nominated in the category for Best World Music Album but he lost to legendary Beninese singer, Angelique Kidjo.

Contrary to popular opinion, media personality, Shade Ladipo believes that Burna Boy’s loss was not unfair and she expressed her thoughts in a video.

Shade Ladipo emphasized that even Burna Boy himself acknowledges that it’s an “honour” to have been nominated alongside the legendary Angelique.

She added: “If Fela was alive, Fela and Angelique Kidjo, they’re mates.”

She went on to reinforce the idea that the person Burna Boy looks up to – Fela – is in the same league as Angelique.

Sharing the video, she wrote:

For the Burna Boy fans who claim he has been cheated, please know your history, know your music
Burna is a great artiste but it takes more than 1 Album and 2 years of Faux touring the US to become the standard for World Music
