Seyi Makinde, Governor of Oyo state, declares recovery from Coronavirus

It has been announced that Seyi Makinde, the Governor of Oyo State, has successfully recovered from Coronavirus.

 

Makinde, who had confirmed his positive test for the virus a week ago, revealed that he has overcome the illness as his second test has returned negative.

 

He shared this update through his official Twitter account, expressing gratitude to everyone, specifically acknowledging Professor Alonge Temitope, the Acting Head of Oyo State COVID-19 task force. He also stated that he will be resuming his duties on April 6.

 

His tweet read: “I am deeply moved by your prayers and support throughout this period. I am so thankful. This evening, I received my second negative test result for COVID-19. I especially thank Prof Temitope Alonge, who acted in my stead as Head of the Oyo State COVID-19 Task Force.

 

“I am also grateful to all members of the Task Force for their cooperation during this time. I will be resuming my responsibility as Head of the Task Force from tomorrow.”
