Victor Orta, the sporting director of Sevilla, disclosed that Kelechi Iheanacho displayed remarkable determination in his decision to join the club.
The Rojiblancos secured the services of the Nigerian international on a free transfer just last week.
Iheanacho parted ways with Leicester City in June after his contract expired.
Despite interest from various European clubs and Saudi Arabia, the 27-year-old opted to sign with the former UEFA Europa League champions.
Orta admitted that Iheanacho exhibited strong willingness to be part of the team.
Orta mentioned in an interview with the club’s official website, “We always explore multiple options, and there came a moment when Iheanacho expressed his keen interest in joining, prompting us to accelerate the process.”
“His associates believed in his potential for success in the Spanish league, and I am truly delighted about it,” Orta added.
