Serial rapist dubbed ‘the Beast of Kavos’ falls 100ft off a cliff and breaks his back while fleeing police in Greece

A 100ft plunge into a ravine while fleeing police in Corfu, Greece resulted in a broken back for Dimitris Aspiotis, the serial rapist known as ‘The Beast of Kavos.’

The 47-year-old, who raped at least seven Brits, suffered fractures to his leg, hip, and spine, as well as a ruptured kidney during the fall that occurred last Friday.

Following a three-hour rescue operation to remove him in a stretcher on the Greek holiday isle, Aspiotis has been under police guard in the hospital, as reported by the Sun.

Aspiotis had been pursued by police after being linked to the rape of a 34-year-old Albanian woman two weeks ago, following his release from jail. The Albanian woman was subjected to repeated rape at knifepoint for three days after being dragged into a forest.

The serial rapist had previously been imprisoned in 2012 for raping up to 100 women, including at least seven British tourists. He had a history of dragging women into the woods and subjecting them to repeated, prolonged assaults.

His sentence of 52 years was reduced to just six years due to a change in the law.

‘The Beast of Kavos’ is now facing an immediate return to prison for breaching his parole conditions.

Kayleigh Morgan, a British victim who campaigned against his release, expressed, “I hope he stays in pain for the rest of his life — it’s time for the Greek authorities to throw away the key.”

The BA stewardess from West Drayton, West London added, “I warned he would strike again and was proved right.”

“I’m just glad he was caught before yet another woman’s life was ruined,” Kayleigh stated.

Aspiotis had been sentenced to 52 years in 2012 but was released in 2018 after persuading parole officials that he had reformed. However, his release caused outrage, with thousands signing a petition demanding his immediate return to jail.
