Senate President Vows to End Inhuman Conditions for Nigerian Workers

Assuring Nigerian workers, the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, stated that the National Assembly and the executive arm of government are committed to improving their wages and working environments through collaborative efforts.

Emphasizing that no Nigerian worker will tolerate inhumane working conditions, Akpabio affirmed, “We will strive to provide you with the best because you deserve it.”

In a statement released by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Eseme Eyiboh, to mark the 2024 May Day celebrations, the Senate President made this pledge.

Reflecting on the admirable qualities of Nigerian workers, Akpabio praised their patriotism, hard work, resilience, and commitment to their responsibilities.

Having been associated with Nigerian workers for over 25 years, Akpabio commended their influential presence wherever they are.

Addressing this year’s Workers’ Day theme of “Ensuring safety and health at work in a changing climate,” Akpabio assured that the National Assembly, under his leadership, is dedicated to enhancing working conditions for Nigerian workers.

Reiterating the relevance of this year’s theme and Nigeria’s alignment with global standards, the Senate President promised that the country would stay abreast of international best practices.
