Security Operatives Intercept 150 Travelers and Almajiri Children in Kaduna

Reports indicate that on Wednesday May 6, security operatives intercepted approximately 150 travelers, including Almajiri children. They were traveling in three vehicles along the Abuja-Kaduna road.

 

Hafsat Baba, the Commissioner for Human Resources and Social Development in the state, revealed that the travelers were attempting to enter Kaduna from the Federal Capital Territory (Abuja) and Nyanya in Nasarawa State.

 

According to Baba, additional almajiris were intercepted in Soba and Giwa Local Government Areas of the state. Among the 150 travelers intercepted, 90 are from Kano State, while the rest are from Nasarawa and Birinin Gwari Local Government in Kaduna.

 

All non-indigenous Almajiris and other travelers have since been returned to their respective states. Those from Kaduna have been placed under quarantine for a duration of 14 days.
