SEC denies claim of not auditing its financial statements since 2014

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has refuted allegations of not publishing annual reports and accounts for nine years. The SEC clarified that it is only obligated to submit its financials to the relevant agencies authorized by the federal government.

In a statement, the SEC emphasized its commitment to maintaining world-class corporate governance standards and urged individuals seeking information to contact them via email.

The commission also stressed the importance of disseminating accurate information to complement the federal government’s efforts in the growth and development of the capital market and Nigeria’s economy.
