Sanwo-Olu announces increased funding for artisans

In a gathering to mark the 14th Tradesmen and Artisans Day at the Blue Roof, Lagos Television, Agidingbi, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Lagos State Governor, reiterated his administration’s dedication to boosting funding for artisans and tradesmen in the state.

Represented by Mr Afolabi Ayantayo, the Commissioner for Establishment and Training, the governor highlighted the implementation of various empowerment programs aimed at preparing artisans to offer local solutions on a global scale.

Recognizing the pivotal role artisans play in driving economic growth, generating employment, and creating wealth, Sanwo-Olu pledged to continue developing innovative solutions to address sectoral challenges and foster an environment conducive to enhanced productivity.

He assured, “We will explore avenues to mitigate the impact of policies and provide extensive support to ensure that the positive outcomes of our governance are felt by all.”

The governor also emphasized the government’s commitment to enhancing the capacity of relevant agencies and institutions such as the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund, and providing small-scale businesses with improved access to funds.

Mr Akinyemi Ajigbotafe, the Commissioner for Wealth Creation and Employment, urged for an increase in the annual subvention from N6m to N12m in his earlier address.
