Rwanda’s Coach Seeks Assistance from Rohr in Match Against Eagles

The head coach of Rwanda, Thorsten Frannk Splitter, has expressed his intention to rely on Gernot Rohr for crucial insights to secure a victory against the Super Eagles in their 2026 World Cup CAF Qualifying Group C match on March 17, 2025, according to PUNCH Sports Extra.

With Rwanda leading Group C after four matches, sharing the top spot with South Africa, Splitter believes they have a chance to qualify for the World Cup by defeating Nigeria.

Having witnessed Rohr guide Benin to a historic win over Nigeria, Splitter, who views Rohr as the right person to guide him, is keen on seeking advice on how to defeat the Nigerian team.

Splitter mentioned, “I am certain that Rohr and I will have discussions before the match. If he can provide any insights, it would be unwise not to consider them. We will try to stay in touch, support each other and collaborate whenever possible.”

In the previous encounter, Rohr’s Benin claimed a memorable victory against Nigeria, with the players celebrating vigorously after securing the win.

Nigeria, currently sitting in fifth place with three points from four matches, aims to boost their qualification chances as they face Zimbabwe after the Rwanda match, with a new coach set to take charge following Finidi George’s resignation.
