What does Russia ask?

  • Ukrainian troops withdrawal: Ukraine must withdraw his forces from the four regions annexed by Russia: Donetsk, Lugansk, Jersón and Zaporiyia. Putin specified that this withdrawal must cover all of these regions according to their administrative limits recognized in 1991, including those currently under Ukrainian control.

  • Nuclear neutrality and disarmament: Ukraine must adopt neutral, not aligned and nuclear weapons free status.
  • Recognition of Russian sovereignty over certain territories: Recognition by Ukraine of Russian sovereignty on Crimea, Sevastopol, and the regions of Donetsk, Lugansk, Jersón and Zaporiyia is required. In addition, the rights and freedoms of Russian citizens in Ukraine should be fully guaranteed.
