In a recent statement, Nigerian artist Ruger expressed his views on the rivalry among Afrobeats sensations Davido, Wizkid, and Burna Boy.
He proposed that the three should set aside any competition and work together on a joint project.
Ruger, the head of Blown Boy, conveyed his optimism that a collaborative effort and a shared global tour among the three artists would not only be significant for them individually but also for the Afrobeats genre as a whole.
During a discussion on Madame Joyce’s ‘Cocktails & Takeaways’ podcast, Ruger revealed his decision to collaborate with BNXN as a way to move forward from any existing conflicts.
He remarked, “I believe that Davido, Wizkid, and Burna Boy should come together for a single track and embark on a world tour. They don’t necessarily need to produce a full album. One song and a global tour together would be a massive milestone.”
“BNXN and I would both contribute as writers to the track.”
