Rivers State Set to Honor Late Nollywood Star, Precious

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has pledged to pay tribute to Precious Ofurum, a Rivers native who tragically lost his life in a recent boat accident in Asaba, Delta State. The assurance was given to the state chapter of the Actors Guild of Nigeria and the Nollywood community.

A boat mishap in Delta State claimed the lives of several Nollywood actors, including Junior Pope, during their return from a film shoot. Governor Fubara, represented by Dr. George Nwaeke, Head of Rivers State Civil Service, expressed grief over the loss of an indigenous talent from the state.

In acknowledgment of the support shown by the Nollywood community, Governor Fubara hailed their solidarity and highlighted Precious Ofurum’s distinctiveness and contributions. He described the late actor as a shining example of Nigerian success and patriotism.

Expressing condolences to the bereaved family, Governor Fubara commended Precious for choosing to pursue his career in Nigeria and representing the nation with pride and distinction in the film industry.

Emphasizing his administration’s commitment to supporting youth talent, Governor Fubara assured that efforts would be made to honor Precious and provide assistance to his grieving family.

During the solidarity visit, Mr. Eric Stevenson detailed the tragic boat accident that took the lives of actors, including Rivers State’s own Precious Ofurum. Stevenson highlighted the need for government support and action to comfort the affected families.
