Rivers crisis: Jonathan, Odili, Amaechi no longer in talking terms with Wike — Clark

Chief Clark reveals: Wike at odds with Jonathan, Odili, Amaechi

In a surprising turn of events, former Information Minister Chief Edwin Clark has shared that key political figures such as former President Goodluck Jonathan, ex-governors Peter Odili and Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State, who were instrumental in Nyesom Wike’s political ascent, are now estranged from the FCT minister.

The revelation came to light in an open letter addressed to Rivers politician Senator George Sekibo on Sunday.

Detailing the involvement of prominent Ijaw leaders in Rivers State politics, particularly in supporting Wike’s gubernatorial journey, Clark sought to address perceived misconceptions propagated by Sekibo about the Ijaw community’s relationship with Wike.

Emphasizing his steadfast commitment to truth and justice in his decades-long public service, Clark asserted, “It is too late for me at this stage to withdraw from my commitment and will continue to fight for justice and the rule of law in Rivers State.”

Offering advice to Sekibo, Clark urged the younger politician to align with noble causes and draw wisdom from history, highlighting Wike’s indebtedness to several individuals including Sen. John Mbata, Sen. Andrew Uchendu, Sir Peter Odili, Chief Rotimi Amaechi, and most significantly, Mrs. Patience Jonathan and Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, for his political trajectory.

In a twist of fate, Clark noted, “Unfortunately, today, all of these eminent persons that fed him are no longer on talking terms with him.”
