Nollywood star Rita Dominic recently shared insights into why she chose to wait before tying the knot. The 48-year-old actress, who married Fidelis Anosike in April 2022, revealed her reasons during an interview on Joy 99.7 FM.
Dominic emphasized that she wanted to ensure she was entering marriage for the right reasons, rather than succumbing to societal pressures. Despite facing years of marriage expectations, she remained resolute in her decision to marry at her own pace.
Reflecting on her journey, she expressed, “I decided to wait before getting married to be certain that I was choosing a partner for genuine reasons, not due to external influences. I ignored the persistent societal expectations for years because, ultimately, I am responsible for my choices.”
When asked if the delay was due to not finding her ideal match earlier, Dominic explained, “I crossed paths with several individuals, but sometimes things simply don’t fall into place. I believe in allowing relationships to evolve organically; if there is no natural compatibility, forcing it serves no purpose. It’s better to move on rather than force a connection that isn’t meant to be.”
Notably, Rita clarified that her celebrity status was not a factor in her decision to postpone marriage.
