Rescue of Nigerian Lady Sold by Lebanese Man Online

After being put up for sale online by a Lebanese man, Wael Jerro, Busari Peace, a 30-year-old Nigerian lady, has been successfully rescued.

Abike Dabiri-Erewa, the Chairman of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), confirmed the rescue on Twitter on Tuesday April 28, announcing that Peace is currently at the Nigerian High Commission in Beirut.

”Update on Nigerian girl put up for sale by a Lebanese, Wael Jerro on Facebook. She has been rescued and safely with officials of the Nigerian Mission in Beirut. More updates later” she wrote

Outrage ensued when Jerro posted on the Facebook page ‘Buy and Sell in Lebanon’, advertising Busari with her Nigerian passport and putting a price tag of $1,000 on her. Busari, who hails from Oyo State, has been the center of attention after Jerro’s arrest.
