Announcement has been made by the Oyo State government, specifically through the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board, regarding a slight adjustment in the timetable for teachers’ recruitment interviews.
The initial interview session that was planned for Tuesday, August 20, 2024, has now been moved to August 26, 2024, to prevent a clash with Isese Day, a public holiday in Oyo State.
Isese Day, which is traditionally commemorated on August 20, celebrates the indigenous Yoruba culture and traditions while highlighting the importance of preserving Yoruba heritage.
This day holds significant cultural value, especially for followers of the Yoruba traditional religion.
Responding promptly to the cultural significance of the date, Dr Nureni Adeniran, Executive Chairman of SUBEB, rescheduled the interview date to Monday, August 26, 2024.
In an official statement issued on Tuesday, Adeniran stressed the importance of honoring cultural traditions and ensuring that all candidates have an equal opportunity to partake in the final phase of the recruitment process.
“Considering this aspect, the local government areas (LGAs) affected, whose interviews were originally set for Tuesday, August 20, 2024, have now been rearranged to Monday, August 26, 2024,” stated Adeniran.
According to the statement, the impacted LGAs include Saki West, Saki East, Irepo, Oriire, Olorunsogo, Orelope, Ogbomoso North, and Ogbomoso South.
Adeniran also urged strict adherence to the adjusted timetable, noting that the Board’s decision has received widespread approval from stakeholders who recognize the sensitivity and responsiveness shown by the educational authorities.

Wednesday, August 14, 2024: Egbeda and Atisbo
Thursday, August 15, 2024: Akinyele, Afijio, and Ibarapa central Local government areas.
Friday, August 16, 2024: Iseyin, Itesiwaju, Kajola, Ibarapa East, Ibarapa North, Lagelu, and Iwajowa.
Monday, August 19, 2024: Ido and Ibadan South West Local Government Areas.
Wednesday, August 21, 2024: Atiba, Oyo East, Oyo West, Surulere, and Ogo-Oluwa.
Thursday, August 22, 2024: Ibadan South-East, Ibadan North, Ibadan North-East, Ibadan North-West.
Friday, August 23, 2024: Oluyole and Ona Ara local government areas.
Monday, August 26, 2024: Saki West, Saki East, Irepo, Oriire, Olorunsogo, Orelope, Ogbomoso North, Ogbomoso South.
