Reprimand from NFF Leads to Suspension of Referee and Assistant

Following poor officiating, center referee Jimoh Abdurasheed and his assistant Zakari Adamu have been suspended from officiating in the Nigeria Premier Football League by the Nigeria Football Federation Refereeing Development Unit.

During the match between Rivers United and Kano Pillars at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium on matchday 24, the duo was in charge, which ended in a 1-1 draw.

Kano Pillars filed a complaint with the NPFL, prompting the disciplinary action against the officiating pair.

Allegations suggest that the officials engaged in misconduct that led to Rivers United scoring the equalizer in the game.

Notification of the decision to suspend the officials has been relayed to the NFF president and the general secretary.
