The circulated footage captures the menacing presence of the thugs as they navigate through the market, issuing stern warnings to traders regarding non-compliance with their demands.
In the video, one individual can be heard cautioning, “Nigerians, hunger is not exclusive to you. Refrain from joining the August 1st protest. However, if you decide to participate, be prepared for the consequences.”
These events unfold amidst various appeals from governmental bodies, religious figures, and civil society organizations urging the cancellation of the anticipated protest.
