Repentant bandits surrender arms in Zamfara

The surrender of arms by repentant bandits in Zamfara has been marked with a significant event. The Zamfara State Government has taken custody of a large cache of arms and ammunitions that were willingly surrendered by former bandits.

During a recent inspection of the arms at the headquarters of Operation Hadarin Daji in Gusau, the state capital, Governor Bello Matawale of Zamfara made a commitment to allocate 200 Hilux vehicles and 190 motorcycles to security operatives in the state. This allocation aims to reinforce the ongoing campaign against banditry in various parts of the state.

The surrendered weapons include 1 General Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG), 3 Fabrique Nationale (FN) rifles, and 1 AK-47 rifle. Additionally, troops captured a total of 14 AK-47 rifles and 10,000 rounds of 7.62mm (Special) Ammunition.
