Rema’s Track ‘Calm Down’ Achieves Landmark 1 Billion On-Demand Streams in the US

The sensational Nigerian artist, known as Rema, has made history with his chart-topping song ‘Calm Down’ becoming the first African track to reach 1 billion on-demand streams in the United States.

Chart Data, a prominent American Music Stats Company, has reported that ‘Calm Down’ has surpassed the remarkable milestone of 1 billion on-demand streams in the US.

Announcing this milestone, Chart Data tweeted, “REMA’s ‘Calm Down’ has made history by becoming the first Afrobeats song to achieve over 1 billion on-demand streams in the US.”

Last August, the ‘Calm Down’ remix featuring Selena Gomez also made waves as the first African song to hit the billion-stream mark on Spotify.

The original version of ‘Calm Down’ even received recognition from the Guinness World Records for being the first number one song on MENA, the world’s first regional streaming chart.
