Remarks by Sowore on DSS Mobilizing for Protest on August 1

Noted activist, Omoyele Sowore, commended the Department of State Services, DSS, for its efficient mobilization of Nigerians for the upcoming protest on August 1 with the theme #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria.

Sowore expressed his thoughts following the news of DSS detaining one of the key organizers for the August 1 protest, identified as @Mallam_jabeer.

A user known as @n6oflife6 shared, “Got a call from @Mallam_jabeer informing me that he’s been taken into custody by the DSS. He’s been peaceful and compliant with all protest logistics. Arresting him before the scheduled protest on August 1 doesn’t seem justified. Efforts are underway to secure his release. Nigeria, we salute you.”

In response, Sowore commented, “The @OfficialDSSNG is effectively galvanizing support for the #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria movement. #FreeJabirNow.”

Nigerians are gearing up to demonstrate on August 1 against the challenges and hardships they endure during President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

Tinubu, however, appealed to Nigerians to halt the planned protest and allow him time to implement reforms for economic betterment.
