In a touching gesture, Messi praised Cheuko, affirming him as the finest bodyguard during a plane journey post the prestigious Ballon d’Or event last year where Messi bested Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe.
Recounting the incident, Cheuko revealed, “Messi sees me not just as his bodyguard but as a friend. After clinching the Ballon d’Or, he turned to me on the plane and said, ‘Yassine, hold the Ballon d’Or in your hands!’ Initially, I was puzzled, thinking he wanted me to take it elsewhere.”
