Red Cross Vehicle Reportedly Set Ablaze and Office Vandalized by Protesters in Yobe

Despite the enforcement of a 24-hour curfew, reports have emerged stating that protesting youths in Potiskum town, Yobe State, set fire to a vehicle that belonged to the Red Cross Divisional Office.

Additionally, the protesters were reported to have ransacked items within the divisional office.

Earlier, it was mentioned that three protesting youths were fatally shot while trying to vandalize food supplies belonging to various non-governmental organizations in the area.

Following the nationwide protests against poor governance on August 1, Potiskum, Gashu’a, and Nguru towns have been placed under a continuous 24-hour curfew.

As of the time of writing this report, the Yobe State Command of the Nigeria Police Force has not officially confirmed the incident.
