US President Donald J. Trump used his Twitter platform on Sunday to extend well-wishes for Palm Sunday amidst the Coronavirus pandemic, which has caused around 8,492 deaths in the United States as of Sunday.
Trump, a self-proclaimed Christian, hailing from the pandemic’s epicenter, New York, tweeted:
“‘Palm Sunday is the beginning of a Holy week for many people of Faith and a great day to lift our voices in Prayer. I will be tuning into Pastor @greglaurie at @harvestorg Church in Riverside, California tomorrow at 11:00 A.M. Eastern.’
Some of his followers were not pleased, attributing him with responsibility for the spread in the US and labeling him as ‘hypocritical.’ However, the Christian community lauded him for advocating for Christians in America and upholding Christian values.
