Rangers Defender Balogun Aims for UEFA Champions League Group Stage Spot

As per reports from NewsNow, Leon Balogun, the defender for Rangers, is aiming to secure a place in the group stage of the UEFA Champions League.

The Light Blues are set to face Dynamo Kiev from Ukraine in the first leg of the third qualifying round in Kiev on Wednesday.

A victory over two legs will secure a spot in the lucrative group stage of the competition.

In a press conference held ahead of the game in Lublin, the 36-year-old expressed his desire to reach the group stage, citing it as his primary motivation.

Reflecting on his Champions League experience, he stated, “I have participated in qualifiers before but never in the Champions League for Rangers; it didn’t materialize. At this stage of my career, qualifying would be one of my proudest accomplishments, driving my personal motivation. I believe every player present here today has their unique reasons for aspiring to reach the group stages.”

“I sense a strong determination among everyone to deliver a top-notch performance tomorrow. Despite the quick turnaround, the magnitude of the occasion is not lost on us,” he added.

Earlier this summer, the Nigerian international penned a one-year contract extension with Rangers.
