Rangers Secure Eighth NPFL Title Victory
NewsNow has reported that Rangers have emerged as the champions of the 2023–24 Nigeria Premier Football League.
This marks the eighth time that the Flying Antelopes have claimed the prestigious NPFL title.
The title-clinching moment came after Fidelis Ilechukwu’s squad secured a 2-0 victory against Bendel Insurance during a match held on Sunday.
Kenechukwu Agu and Chidiebere Nwobodo were the standout goal scorers for the Enugu-based club.
With 67 points accumulated from 37 games, Rangers now hold the top position in the league standings.
Meanwhile, Remo Stars and Enyimba, their closest rivals, faced defeats against Sunshine Stars and Sporting Lagos consecutively.
In the South West derby in Akure, Remo Stars suffered a 2-1 loss to Sunshine Stars.
Enyimba also stumbled in a 2-1 defeat against Sporting Lagos at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan.
