R. Kelly pleads not guilty to new charges R. Kelly pleads not guilty to new charges of child pornography and sexually abusing a teenage girl under the age of 16

Disgraced singer, R. Kelly, 53, has entered a plea of not guilty to new charges of child pornography and sexually abusing a teenage girl under the age of 16.

An updated federal indictment was presented during an arraignment at a hearing in Chicago on Thursday, including a new alleged victim known as Minor Six.

The indictment alleges that Kelly met the girl in 1997 or 1998 when she was 14 or 15-years-old, and engaged in sexual contact or acts with her when she was under the age of 18.

The indictment also states that Kelly is accused of engaging in sexual contact and acts with Minor Six and four others when they were under 18, and seeks to forfeit all assets from Kelly’s production company, Bass Productions Lt.

Prosecutor Angel Krull mentioned the seizure of over 100 electronic devices following a search warrant.

Judge Harry Leinenweber decided to delay Kelly’s trial date from 27 April to 13 October.

Kelly, who has consistently denied all allegations of abuse, is facing numerous counts of state and federal sexual misconduct charges in Illinois, Minnesota, and New York, ranging from sexual assault to leading a racketeering scheme aimed at supplying him with girls.

R. Kelly has been incarcerated since July and has been awaiting trial at a Chicago federal jail near the courthouse, where he attends pre-trial hearings.

The federal charges in Chicago accuse Kelly of filming himself having sex with underage girls and of tampering with potential witnesses during a 2008 trial, in which he was acquitted, to alter their testimonies.
