Prophet El-Buba urges Tinubu and NASS to stop extravagant living at the expense of ordinary Nigerians

A statement from the Initiative for Better and Brighter Nigeria (IBBN) has called upon President Bola Tinubu, members of the National Assembly, and their associates to halt their luxurious lifestyles which come at the detriment of most Nigerians.

The group also urged the President to exhibit sensitivity and leadership by addressing the hardships faced by ordinary Nigerians through measures such as reducing excessive government expenditure.

Prophet Isa El-Buba, the Convener of IBBN, made these remarks while addressing journalists in Jos, the capital of Plateau State, on Monday.

El-Buba emphasized the need for unity and solidarity among Nigerians in demanding a better governance system, highlighting the importance of peaceful resistance against injustice, corruption, and lack of accountability.

Reflecting on recent protests across the country, he praised the peaceful nature of the demonstrations while condemning the violent acts perpetrated against protesters in certain regions.

He reiterated the group’s stance on non-violent resistance and urged for the protection of public and private properties during protests for societal change.

El-Buba expressed concern over the dire living conditions faced by many Nigerians and criticized the disparity between the extravagant lifestyles of political leaders and the struggles of the majority population.

He called on the government to prioritize the well-being of citizens by curbing excessive spending and implementing policies that address issues such as food security and justice.

The group outlined specific demands, including the reduction of government expenses, the appointment of competent individuals to key positions, and the enforcement of anti-corruption measures to propel Nigeria towards progress.

El-Buba urged Nigerians to remain united in advocating for positive change in the country, emphasizing the importance of perseverance until their voices are heard by those in power.

He concluded by affirming that peaceful protests will persist until the concerns of the people are effectively addressed.
