Prince Fagbemi Commends President Tinubu and National Assembly for Salaries Boost for Judicial Officers

Expressing his delight, the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Prince Lateef Fagbemi, praised President Bola Tinubu for approving an increase in the salaries of judicial officers in the nation.

In a statement released on Tuesday in Abuja, Fagbemi shared his joy over the latest development.

The statement mentioned, “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has given his assent to the Judicial Office Holders Salaries and Allowances Bill, 2024.”

Highlighting the significance of this move, Fagbemi noted, “Judicial officers in Nigeria have been receiving the same salary for close to two decades, and this act addresses their long-standing desire for improved conditions in service.”

“President Tinubu’s consistent dedication to the sustainable overhaul of the justice administration has been evident,” added Fagbemi.

Regarding the reforms, Fagbemi emphasized, “The review of judicial remuneration marks a crucial initial step towards establishing a judiciary system that serves the interests of all Nigerians.”

Fagbemi also stated, “Moving forward, my ministry will collaborate with justice sector stakeholders to address and resolve other critical issues aimed at fortifying the judiciary.”

He expressed gratitude towards the 10th National Assembly for their rapid approval of the bill, which showcased their commitment to addressing the challenges faced by the judiciary and its officers in Nigeria.
