Primate Ayodele: Tinubu Unlikely to Respond to Nigerians Without Protest

President Bola Tinubu’s government is unlikely to heed the grievances of Nigerians if the proposed nationwide protest on August 1 fails to materialize, according to Primate Elijah Ayodele, the leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church.

Describing the planned protest as a necessary wake-up call for Tinubu, senators, and state governors, Primate Ayodele expressed disappointment in Tinubu’s administration for not taking adequate measures to alleviate the country’s hardships and hunger.

Ayodele emphasized that staging a protest is the only way for the government to truly understand the challenges faced by the people. However, he clarified that he does not advocate for protests as a solution to the current difficulties.

He stated, “The protest serves as a wake-up call for the government; it may not provide a complete solution but it will serve as a mechanism to prompt the President, governors, and senators to take action. It will act as a system of checks and balances.”

Ayodele cautioned protesters to maintain peace and refrain from violence to prevent plunging the nation into chaos. He urged them to engage with the government in a civil and peaceful manner in their demonstrations.
