Priest accused of inviting nuns to participate in ‘Holy Trinity’ threesome

Priest is accused of inviting two nuns to take part in a

Allegations have been made against a priest, Marko Ivan Rupnik, 68, claiming he initiated a “holy” threesome with two nuns to represent the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost.

It is alleged that Rupnik invited two nuns to partake in the act and used “psycho-spiritual” methods of control to compel them to engage in sexual activities and watch porn.

Rupnik was serving as a spiritual director at a Slovenian convent at the time of the alleged incidents.

A former nun, now 58, who accused him, stated that she reported the infractions at the time but claimed her concerns were disregarded for years.

The former nun recounted to Italian investigative newspaper Domani on Sunday that “Father Marko started slowly and sweetly getting inside my psychological and spiritual world, exploiting my uncertainties and fragility and using my relationship with God to push me into sexual experiences with him.” She described it as an “abuse of conscience.”

The ex-nun alleged that Rupnik had groomed her and taken her virginity, later keeping her silent using bullying tactics from 1987 to 1994 when she was a sister at the convent.

She claimed Rupnik requested her and another nun to engage in sexual activities with him to recreate the three-way relationship between God, Jesus, and the Holy Ghost. She believes there may be up to 20 women who have suffered abuse from the clergyman.

In response to the unnamed nun’s claims, the Jesuit order has urged other victims to come forward and assured that they will be listened to with understanding and empathy.

These recent allegations are part of a series of accusations against Rupnik spanning decades.

Rupnik, a well-known artist in the Church, had faced allegations of sexual misconduct in Slovenia during the 1990s, but these claims only came to light earlier this month.

Regarding the accusations, the priest’s order stated that the Vatican had investigated Rupnik and ruled that the statute of limitations applied, preventing legal proceedings, and Rupnik wouldn’t be punished.

Following the investigation in May 2020, Rupnik was reportedly excommunicated for a serious sin: using a confessional to absolve a woman he had a sexual relationship with. The excommunication was lifted just a month later after Rupnik repented.

Rupnik’s superior, Reverend Johan Verschueren, issued an appeal for further information or claims against Rupnik and expressed a desire to address questions arising from the new allegations.

“My main concern in all of this is for those who have suffered, and I invite anyone who wishes to make a new complaint or discuss complaints already made to contact me,” he said.
