President Tinubu Launches Southern Traditional Rulers Council

The inauguration of the Southern Nigeria Traditional Rulers Council took place in Imo State with President Bola Tinubu presiding over the event in Owerri, the state capital.

Leading the council is the Oni of Ife, Adeyeye Ogunwusi, as Chairman, alongside co-chairmen Obi of Obinugwu, Cletus Illomuanya, and King Jaja of Opopo, Dandeson Jaja, with Benjamin Ikenchuku Keagborekuzi 1, Dein of Agbor, serving as the secretary.

Representing the President, Secretary to the Government of the Federation George Akume expressed admiration for the traditional institution, emphasizing its crucial role in preserving Nigerian culture and unity.

Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, hosting the event, urged council members to engage with their Northern counterparts to promote national unity.

He called for support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, highlighting his efforts towards sustainable economic growth and development in Nigeria.

Governor Abiodun of Ogun State also commended the initiative, foreseeing the council’s advisory role in national progress and unity.

Oni of Ife, Ogunwusi, appreciated Governor Uzodimma’s commitment to Southern unification, marking a significant milestone achieved through collaborative efforts.
