President Tinubu extends the terms of service for CMDs at AKTH and ATBUTH

Prof. Abdurrahman Sheshe has been granted a second and final four-year term as the Chief Medical Director of Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, Kano, by President Bola Tinubu. His new term will commence on 5 December 2023.

Additionally, Prof. Yusuf Bara has been reappointed by President Tinubu as the Chief Medical Director of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital, Bauchi, for another four-year term.

The reappointments were announced in separate statements by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, titled ‘President Tinubu Reappoints Chief Medical Director of Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital’ and ‘President Tinubu Reappoints Chief Medical Director of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital.’

Sheshe assumed the position of Chief Medical Director of Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital on 6 December 2019.

Ngelale mentioned that President Tinubu expects Prof. Sheshe to focus on enhancing the hospital’s standards and ensuring the effective delivery of high-quality services to the citizens.

Meanwhile, the Presidency highlighted that the reappointment of Prof. Bara was based on an evaluation of his performance during his initial term in office.

The President aims for Bara to build upon the achievements made during his first term with this extension.
