President Erdogan: Turkey ceases trade with Israel to push for ceasefire

Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the Turkish President, has emphasized that the primary goal behind Turkey’s decision to halt trade with Israel is to compel the Israeli government to agree to a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

During a meeting with the Independent Industrialists and Businessmen Association’s board of directors in Istanbul, Erdogan conveyed this message, stating that the government will collaborate with the business sector to address the repercussions of the trade suspension.

As per the Turkish Trade Ministry, all trade activities with Israel were brought to a stop on Thursday in response to what Turkey considers as Israel’s continuous violence against Palestinians in Gaza.

Erdogan also mentioned that this step could serve as a model for other nations concerned about the ongoing situation.
